COVID Protocol for Little Elf Family Services
I am mostly working virtually, but am beginning to work in person now that I am fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
What I expect of you as a family that I will be seeing in person:
If you have COVID-19 symptoms, if you or someone you live with has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or if you’ve had close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, please stay home and DO NOT let me or my backup doula enter your home. We can meet virtually when you are feeling up for it. Some signs to look for include frequent cough, fever, difficulty breathing, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, recent loss of taste or smell. Screen for symptoms at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html Stay home and isolate for 14 days from the date you tested positive or, if symptomatic, seven days after symptoms resolve, whichever is longer.
Likewise, if I have any suspected COVID-19 symptoms, I will either see you virtually if possible. I will notify the County Public Health Department within four hours of learning of the diagnosis. If we worked together in person beginning 2 days before symptoms or from when I tested positive, I will let you know and follow applicable guidance from the Health Department.
Face coverings (except for very young children, if medically inadvisable, or for communication by or with people who are hearing impaired) are required to work together in accordance with the California Department of Public Health’s mandatory Guidance for the Use of Face Coverings and also in compliance with the Health Officer’s Order.
Cover sneezes and coughs with cloth, tissue, or elbow
Do not shake hands or engage in unnecessary physical contact
We all need to practice regular hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. I will wash my hands when I arrive and regularly throughout the visit. Please provide soap and paper towels. (I would appreciate Vaseline or other strong hand lotion in a pump to help my dry skin that comes with hand washing!)
We will check-in on COVID symptoms at the beginning of each shift, and we will not stay in person if there are any signs of COVID-19.
While I am not a housekeeper and won’t be able to clean EVERYTHING, once per visit I will assist with cleaning and disinfecting high-contact surfaces (such as doorknobs, handrails, counters, tables, telephones, keys). Please provide disinfecting wipes or related supplies.
As applicable and as long as we are able to keep the temperature appropriate for the baby, we will open doors and windows, use ventilating fans to increase air circulation, and be outside to maximize the use of outdoor space for interactions. After all, fresh air and sunshine are good for both mental AND physical health.
